Aerolite and isotherm roof insulation contain no harmful chemicals. You might get a bit itchy if you work with aerolite insulation as it is a fiberglass product, and a dust musk must be worn when it is installed, but the fiberglass will have no affect on you once it has been installed in your roof.
Polyester insulation is the only insulation that we have in South Africa at the moment that does not contain any chemicals or loose fiber strands.
